Listening to four different live versions if “Young Man Blues” by The Who.
Live at Leeds
Live at Hull
Live at Young Vic ( Remix)
Live at London Coliseum
Each stands unique, though the scope of all is epic.
Leeds has that wild guitar echo that moves throughout the entire concert.
However, Hull stands as my preferred version. The mix has a much cleaner sound than Leeds. The jam at 1:20 is far richer and more visceral.
Pete is charging hard at full speed. Moon is on the JOB. But it’s Entwistle that just blows the lid off. His bass line simply flies. It’s insane. And that bass line was GREAT at Leeds. But this version really demonstrates The Ox’s ability to command the rhythm of The Who.
