Harley Quinn and Black Canary, gouache
the finish from my mentor assignment given to me by Erik Jones. The assignment was to create a comic book cover with my two favorite DC characters, Harley Quinn and Black Canary.
This is what I’ve spent all my free time on in the past week. I’m pretty happy with it.
DumbAngelSessions: “Look, Mr. J! Even with her mouth shut, I can make a Canary Cry!”
Gotta say, this is the most disturbingly hypnotic piece of artwork I’ve seen in a long time. All the more so because I am a HUGE Black Canary fan. Most specifically silver/bronze age Black Canary. You know, the Black Canary that was constantly getting captured, tied up or placed into some sort death trap scenario. (What can I say? It’s my kink.) So when I found this piece of artwork, I was very intrigued. Quite disturbed but very intrigued none the less.
